Tudou to launch Hangzhou Channel with HZTV

After launching in-depth cooperation with Hangzhou TV Station (HZTV) on July 16, online video platform Tudou will soon launch a Hangzhou channel, according to an announcement of the company.

Tudou has already been a leader in the localization of video platforms and has established more than 30 city channels. HZTV is the 71st local TV station signing localization projects with Tudou. Tudou will launch more and more local channels in the future.

The company plans to open 10 new local channels per month in the near future in order to form a huge local content platform consisting of 210 local content channels by the end of 2012.

In March 2012, Tudou merged with Youku but the 2 brands are still managede separately.
